The Cradle of Karakuri Culture
Exhibition of a plethora of materials related to karakuri culture. See up close the Float Karakuri Dolls that were installed on the Inuyama Festival floats, as well as the cute and interesting Tea-Serving Dolls. In addition to the exhibition, the facility also features daily demonstrations and explanations about Karakuri dolls. Mr. Shobei Tamaya IX (Shobei Tamaya the Ninth) will show you how Karakuri puppets are made, and you will be fascinated by their life-like movements.
Mechanical Doll Demonstration
In order to make karakuri culture more familiar, explanations and demonstrations of karakuri dolls and production exhibitions are held regularly in the museum. There are also regular karakuri doll demonstrations (except on days when the Inuyama Festival is held). You can see how the doll carries the tea bowl and how the large Karakuri is operated.

Every Friday and Saturday, the Shobei Tamaya IX's karakuri doll production workshop is open to the public.
