Nagoya Castle's summer highlight

Nagoya Castle Summer Festival is back with plenty of summer events like a giant communal bon dance, stage events, and more. Ice cold drinks; fluffy, refreshing shaved ice; and other tantalizing treats too offer a break from the heat. Cool off the fun way at Nagoya Castle!

Great bon dance
A grand communal Owari/Nagoya-style bon dance is held for a crazy nine days full of history, style, and originality! Crowd around the original center stage made entirely of Japanese cypress as you dance together with countless others. Plus, Friday, August 16 is Grampus Day with the soccer team's mascot Grampus-kun making and appearance.

• Carnival fun
Fun and games for both children and adults are calling. You can even try scooping up goldfish straight from Yatomi City—Aichi Prefecture's goldfish capital!

Special opening of important cultural property Southwest Corner Watchtower
