Tahara-City (Temporarily Closed)
Irago Crystal Port Rest Stop
[Facility closed from October 1, 2022 to early June, 2023 due to renovation construction works]
This terminal building connects the land and sea transportation lines in and out of Atsumi Peninsula. Inside the facility you can find the "Yashi-no-Ki" Palm Tree Museum, and thanks to a joint effort with the Ishigaki City Tourism Association, you can purchase produce from Okinawa. Of course, you'll also find local produce from Atsumi Peninsula, snacks and light meals, and a well-stocked souvenir shop. Look for the delicious dried seafood, seaweed varieties, clams and other sea produce, as well as melons, tomatoes and other succulent vegetables of Tahara-City.
Another part of the building is the Irago Port Passenger Terminal, where you are able to buy tickets to board the fast boats going to and from Kowa Port in Chita Peninsula, and the islands of Himakajima and Shinojima.
