Young children put on the traditional garb of hina dolls in this widely popular event each year. Fifteen take up the roles of the emperor and empress, court ladies, musicians, ministers, and servants, popping out from their decorative placing on the traditional stepped display stand to walk along the streets.

Notes:
• Roles are decided based on height and gender.
• The emperor and empress are selected from participants from the previous year and are not available for application.
• Siblings must apply separately.

Dates: Sat, Feb 24 and Sat, Mar 2 (postponed to Sun, Feb 25 and Sun, Mar 3 should rainy weather occur)
Time: 10:00 am–11:00 pm
Application: Must be postmarked for Feb 20 (selected by drawing if a large number of applicants)

Enjoy Fukuyose Hina Dolls—dolls in comical poses and on display in unique situations—available to acclaim every year. Come see what fun excitement this year's dolls offer.

• Antique hina doll display
Precious hina dolls from the Edo period to the Showa period of Japanese history are put on display.

• Hina Tour Haiku Contest
Submit a haiku about the Ningyo Komichi Alley's Hina Tour about topics like the children's parade, comical hina dolls, antique hina dolls, and the Hina Festival. This year's theme is "hina dolls". Place your poem in application boxes available at the Ichiban-Kan Hall and Yoshihama Urban Development Council, or mail it in by March 10.
