Toyokawa-City Toyokawa Inari Shrine Chinza Great Autumn Festival

Date : 11/16/2024, 11/17/2024

The Toyokawa Inari Shrine Chinza Great Autumn Festival is a means for the people of Toyokawa to give thanks for a bountiful harvest and holds a portable shrine parade as well as a children's parade with participants dressed in ornate costumes.
A giant paper lantern with a height of 10 meters and diameter of 5 meters is hoisted up in the shrine's premises with a variety of other lanterns both large and small, giving the festival the nickname the "Giant Lantern Festival". On both days of the festival, the premises also play host to a national antique market, blue tent market, sprawl of Toyokawa Inari Sushi, and various performances.

This year, on Saturday the 18th, a White Fox Festival is also held at the shrine. Here, you can peruse an old-fashioned night market with booths and hands-on workshops for fun no matter your age. The shrine is also illuminated to create an even more mystical atmosphere.
