Okazaki-City Higashi Park
The getaway to get to
Ukimi Gazebo and Kangetsu Bridge as well as a pond surround a hill with a path featuring the blossoms of cherry trees and irises as well as fall colors, serving as eye candy to visitors during each of the four seasons. A stone monument to historical figure Shiga Shigetaka, historic Namboku-tei Teahouse, and the Kotaro Honda Museum also make the park their home, letting you walk in the footsteps of the greats of Japanese history while you get close to nature. Plus, there is a zoo on the premises popular with children and available to enter free of charge.
In June, some 9,000 irises bloom in vivid colors around the park all at once in a spectacular display as the Iris Festival is held.
