Inuyama-City Little World Museum of Man
An open-air museum letting you "taste", "wear", and "live" in another country
The Little World Museum of Man is an anthropological museum in the city of Inuyama based on the theme of homes and lifestyles of cultures around the world. The cultures of 23 countries today, such as Indonesia, Nepal, Peru, France, the Alsace region, and other locations around the world as well as various regions in Japan, from the Ainu culture of the north to the Ishigaki Island culture of the south, are on display at 32 facilities in the museum's premises, relocated from their original homes and renovated for you to experience.
The main area's exhibition room displays year-round a rich sum of some 6,000 cultural pieces from 70 different countries, letting you experience a trip around the world in a single day. Even better, you can actually dress up in ethnic garb to become someone else from across the globe for a commemorative photo with friends and family. And food, of course, is an integral part of culture, so always be on the lookout for the various events focused on international eats. There are also circus, musical performance, ethnic dance, and other programs you can't afford to miss.
