A calm fireworks display in the rural Town of Shitara

The Hachiman Jinja Shrine of Shitara annually holds this small, enjoyable fireworks festival in celebration of the eve of the main festival, held the next day. The dark surroundings and the 1,000 m or so high mountains lit up by approximately 200 exciting explosions make for the perfect Japanese summer evening.
Get a particularly good view from the Nagura Riverside to the west of Nagura Hachiman Jinja Shrine or within Hachiman Jinja Shrine's premises.
