Traditional Japanese kites soar through the skies

This year's Kota Kite Flying Festival acts as a commemorative event for the 70th anniversary of Kota Town's creation after a merge with other surrounding municipalities.
A myriad of kites takes to the skies—large and small, traditional and new-age. Watch as these creative and beautiful traditional crafts soar over the rural town of Kota as you enjoy the food vendors and booths showing up.

Free shuttle bus : • Operating between Kota Station and the venue (first departure at 9:00 am) and running about every 10 min.
• Operating between Kota Town Hall, the Disaster Prevention Plaza, and the venue (first departure at 8:40 am) and running about every 5 min.

Note:
• Both buses have a final departure from the venue at around 3:30 pm.
Notes : • A participating large kite display takes place at Kota Junior High School's gymnasium should rainy weather occur.
• Kite flying area may change due to wind directions on the day of the event.

    A free shuttle bus is available departing from the West Exit of JR Tokaido Main Line Kota Station, Kota Town Hall, and the Disaster Prevention Plaza.

    Approx. 25 min. south from Okazaki Interchange on the Tomei Expressway by Routes 26, 248, and 483 (after approx. 10.5 km, turn left from Route 483 when it veers west, and you can reach Kota Town Hall after about 100 meters).
