"The most wishes in Japan"

The Anjo Tanabata Star Festival celebrates its 71st anniversary this year.
Anjo's Tanabata Star Festival is known for its nearly 2-kilometer-long street of bamboo decorations, said to be the longest in Japan. The festival takes place in the shopping district around JR Anjo Station on the first Friday, Saturday, and Sunday of August.

The theme for 2024 is "With".

Not only Anjo citizens but many tourists from the surrounding area all participate in creating the cool atmosphere of bamboo ornaments decorating the streets. Writing your wish on a vertical slip of paper and adding it to a piece of bamboo is the typical Tanabata Star Festival custom. What's not so typical is the fact that, like with the world record it set in 2013, Anjo takes in incalculable wishes. See if you can't help create a new world record in 2024!
