  • Arimatsu Shibori Tie-Dye Festival

A fantastic festival for an intimate look into Nagoya's historic art of dyeing

The Arimatsu townscape along the Tokai Road and Arimatsu-Narumi Shibori tie-dyeing—throughout history, the craftsmen of that very townscape have continued the tradition of the town's famous tie-dye art.
The dyeing style has been passed along generations in this historic town and shows its brilliance through pieces available for sale as well as a hands-on program combining the dyeing arts, festival fun, and the historic townscape. Get a feel for the area's culture using your own two hands together with numerous other participants of all ages. Arimatsu opens its arms to all during this fantastic festival.
