Come spring, some 800 Somei Yoshino cherry trees in the area around Okazaki Castle bloom in a blaze of glory. The evenings during the festival's period feature an illumination that lights up the beautiful blossoms in a surreal scene.
Adding to the festive air are the countless food and amusement stalls lining the banks of the Oto River, letting your satiate your hunger and enjoy the blossoms all the more. The flurry of falling cherry blossom petals is incredible, and the sight of Okazaki Castle together with the cherry blossoms is simply stunning.
